Our solution “ Digital Motor Vehicle Insurance Certificate (DiMVIC) in Kenya is a Microsoft Azure cloud-based platform that dematerialized the good old Vehicle Insurance sticker that once adorned all vehicle wind screens in Kenya
DiMVIC is a unique platform that connects the dots in the ecosystem involving vehicle insurance issues (The National Umbrella Bodies) , Insurance Companies, Brokers, Agents, Insurance Regulator, Road Transport Authority and Digital Payment Providers such as Banks, Mobile Operators, Police and Payment Gateways.
The digital certificates avoid frauds like fake certificates and de-dupe them in a central repository that is Blockchain technology enabled. The inception of blockchain makes them immutable on a non-repudation enabled back-end.
The DiMVIC platform interacts with the stakeholders and allows real-time verification of insurance cetificates. Verification can also be done by those with feature phones on USSD

The Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) selected SwiftAnt as IT services vendor for Technical design, development and production for one of our flagship systems IMIDS (Integrated Motor Insurance Database System). IMIDS involved a lot of integration and analytical engagement with all our member companies, who are in underwrite motor insurance. SwiftAnt personnel, engaged professionally with all our member companies) & managed the end-to-end integration process. The scope of the project involved data integration, transformation, application development, reporting & fraud-watch analysis and associated workflow management. SwiftAnt delivered the project on time, within the budget and more importantly with high degree of quality.
After the success of IMIDS, The Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) also awarded SwiftAnt the opportunity to develop another initiative whose aim is to “Digitize” the end-to-end processes associated with motor vehicle insurance certificates. This initiative has had transformational benefits to the entire motor insurance underwriters in Kenya. SwiftAnt has delivered the solution On-Time, with high degree of quality and added significant business value throughout the process.
Thanks to the shift from legacy processes to Azure cloud-based solutions, we have recorded significant cost savings of over 50 percent in cost savings along with projected savings of USD 4 million with digital certificates over three years. Also, with Azure’s pay-as-you-go model, we have pole-vaulted from a CAPEX model to an OPEX model effortlessly.
Our digital transformation initiative has significantly benefited all the motor insurance underwriters under our umbrella. The Azure-powered solution has added great business value throughout the process and re-established trust in the ecosystem.
